Day 6 +7
Hello everyone! My blogs will soon be coming too an end but it has been an amazing experience so far I’ve been combining most of the days as one day will usually be less eventful than the other while another is jam packed full of stuff. That is the case for these two day.
Day 6 was rather uneventful where I went though class times and did a few projects. Robotics was definitely my favorite class of the day I worked with another senior in that class to modify the design of a robot he had already to try and accomplish another taste. The robot would have to throw a ball and then drive towards an area and return to it’s starting point. So I worked on creating and stabilizing the throwing mechanism and fortifying the rest of the robot to work with the added weight. We would test it and play the game on Day 7.
Day 7 was a day full of learning it was by far the most informative day I’ve had so far. First I attended my comp sci class which was a little uneventful as they were working on end of term projects. And then Spanish where we went over conjugation and a movie, and after that I went to African American History. I was rather involved today in AAH as a few students were leading the class and I had worked with them to create a lesson plan and brainstorm on how to effectively use the time they were given for their lesson. After that I went to mobile app development where I really learned something. The teacher of the mobile app development class teaches the course in a manner that has career significance. I believe I have spoken about this class in a previous blog before. But the teacher really encourages students to go a work on their own. I asked the teacher what was the best way to become a better coder, and he simply told me as it was: practice and do. I believe what I was hoping for this whole time was for someone or something to come along and teach me the correct methodology, the correct way to think, the correct way, to write code in a step by step manner but what I didn’t realize was that I have to be the one to do teach my self in a way. No one else can only I can reach this sort of realization on my own. That was my favorite part of the school day. After that we went to Robotics and actually tried out the robots. The robot didn’t come a part a single time so I believe it was a great success on my end! It was effective in its functionality we were just kind of bad at the game so we didn’t win much at all😅. It was overall a very fun and informative school day.
However that’s not the most important part of day seven. I’ll include that in a blog coming shortly as I feel this one is a little long.
A slight sneak peek of the coming blog(hint it has to do with Business stuff)
